Warnings & Precautions

5. Anticonvulsant medications, such as carbamazepine or phenytoin, as taking these medications together can reduce the effectiveness of prazepam and increase the risk of seizures.
6. Antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine or loratadine, as taking these medications together can increase the risk of drowsiness and confusion.
7. Alcohol, as drinking alcohol while taking prazepam can increase the risk of drowsiness, confusion, and respiratory depression.

Prazepam overdose.

An overdose of prazepam can be dangerous and potentially life-threatening. Symptoms of a prazepam overdose can include drowsiness, confusion, slurred speech, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, coma, and in severe cases, death.

If you suspect that you or someone else has taken an overdose of prazepam, you should seek medical attention immediately by calling 911 or your local emergency services.

If the person is conscious and able to swallow, activated charcoal may be administered to help absorb any medication that has not yet been absorbed into the bloodstream. If the person is unconscious, a tube may be inserted into their airway to help them breathe.

It is important to inform the healthcare provider of the amount and timing of the prazepam ingestion, as well as any other medications or substances that have been taken.
